What Did Christ Abolish?

Preview: It is of extreme importance that we understand what Christ meant to do while He was with us and what burdens He relieved us from when He died for us. 1. Did Christ come to abolish the Ten Commandments? Matthew 5:17.

Note: We can see that the Ten Commandments were not abolished by Christ, but practiced. They were not nailed to the cross as many false prophets teach. Christ is Lord of the Sabbath and He kept it. As the Scripture has said, the seventh day was the only day hallowed and sanctified by the Lord God. If Christ changed the day He would have spoken of another day in the Scriptures. Man has substituted the first day for the divine seventh day Sabbath.

Note: The sacrificial law and burnt offerings did not serve to take away the sins of the people. God saw a need for a more sufficient plan of redemption for man. In order to do away with the old insufficient way, He gave the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, once to die for the sins of all, that through His shed blood on Calvary, He has obtained eternal redemption or us. He is now set down on the right hand of God and can save to the uttermost them that come to God by Him, and makes intercession for us, unto salvation.
