Preview: This is the second part of a three-part lesson.

Scripture Reading: I Timothy 3:1-16.

Memory Verse: I Timothy 5:17.

1. How should the Church accept a complaint against an elder? I Timothy 5:19.
2. Why should the minister take tithes from the brethren? Hebrews 7:5.
Note: An elder should be respected as a father, advisor, teacher, chairman, and a bishop. He is due honor if he rules well. The Church is injured when members criticize and rebuke him.
3. By whom is a true minister ordained? John 15:16.
4. How wide are his boundaries? Matthew 28:19.
5. What should the members desire from the elders when they are sick? James 5:14.
6. What has God given His ministers power to do? Mark 6:12-13.
7. What are the requirements of a bishop in God’s Church? What is his duty? Titus 1:7.
Note: The word bishop is the same as overseer or elder. God expects the elders to take the oversight of the Church (see Acts 20:28).
8. Why is counsel and conference expected to be in God’s Church? Proverbs 11:14, Proverbs 15:22.
