Armor of God - Preparation of Peace: Part 8 of 13

Preview: This is the eighth part of a thirteen-part series entitled: ARMOR OF GOD.


Scripture Reading: John 5:15-23.

Memory Verse: John 5:24.

1. From the foregoing Scriptures, can we see how easy it is for religious people to know and claim to honor the Laws of God and despise the Lawgiver because they never knew Him?
2. By what authority was Jesus able to witness? John 5:25-30.
3. Did the religious leaders and their followers understand his message? John 5:31-32, John 5:37-40.
4. Were they more impressed with God’s men who brought the message than with the author of the message? John 5:33-36 & John 5:41-44.
5. Did they honor Moses more than God and yet miss the point of his teachings? John 5:45-47.
Note: Let us please not miss the message in the foregoing Scriptures. The world did not or cannot understand this. Even sadder to say, most of the Church did not or does not understand. God gave His Son Jesus all power and authority over sin, life, death, and judgment, but Jesus never violated this authority. He changed nothing; He glorified the Father and declared that He had always abided in the Father’s will. Moses and Jesus taught the same message. So must we.
6. What was Peter’s message to Cornelius and the Gentiles? Acts 10:34-43.
7. What was Philip’s message to the city of Samaria? Acts 8:4-6 & Acts 8:25.
8. What was Philip’s message to the eunuch? Acts 8:26-35.
Note: The messenger and method will change from person to person, but the message will never change. From Genesis through Revelation it is the same. God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ are one in purpose and Spirit. There never was any other name under Heaven whereby we must be saved.
9. Should we pray for boldness to proclaim the Gospel of Peace? Acts 4:13 & Acts 4:29-31.
10. Why is it urgent that we put on this piece of armor and proclaim this good news? Luke 10:2.
