Armor of God - Christian Warfare: Part 1 of 13

Preview: This is the first part of a thirteen-part series called Armor of God.


Scripture Reading: Ephesians 6:8-18.

Memory Verse: II Timothy 2:4.

1. What do we learn about Christian warfare from the foregoing Scriptures?
2. What are the requirements for a good soldier? II Timothy 2:3, II Timothy 2:5 & I Timothy 6:10-12.
Note: It is impossible to be engaged in war and any other occupation at the same time. The same thing is true when we are engaged in spiritual warfare. We cannot have on the whole armor of God while we are too busy with the affairs of the world.
3. Is it possible to be a Christian and not be involved in a spiritual war? II Corinthians 10:3-5.
Note: Many faithful followers have become discouraged. They have grown lukewarm or have backslidden. They are losing their battle with evil because they do not take time to be holy.
4. Is there a type of warfare that we must become involved in? James 4:1-4.
5. What is the result when our hope of safety and salvation is in government and carnal warfare? Isaiah 2:2 & Isaiah 2:11-22.
6. What should our attitude be toward our government and leaders? Titus 3:1-2.
Note: While our hope and trust must be in the God of Creation, it is His desire that we honor the office of our leaders and pray for them, “that they also may know Him.” Daniel was a good example of this.
7. How did Paul describe this battle between the flesh and the spirit? Romans 7:14-25.
8. What was his testimony at the end of his life? II Timothy 4:7-8.
9. How did he say that this was achieved? Romans 8:1-9.
10. To whom does the victory truly belong? II Chronicles 20:15-17.
Note: We are in a spiritual warfare. Satan appeals to our flesh, God speaks to our spirits. We win the battle only if we are willing to be crucified with Christ, take up our cross daily, and follow Him. The battle is the Lord’s.
